"Building a New House will be the largest investment you can make, so why not take the stress out of the process"
Step 2: Booking Request
To Book your inspection via our website Click Here. Nominate the type of inspection/s as well as the preferred time and date and a few site specific details. Please make your builder aware you have engaged Firth Co Construction to inspect your property on your behalf.
Step 3: Confirmation
Firth Co Construction will confirm the preferred inspection time & date with a booking confirmation email. This will include payment details listed on the invoice due on or before the commencement of your inspection, as well as the Building Inspection Agreement which outlines exactly what is included in your inspection. The Agreement needs to be signed and returned via email or handed to your inspector before commencement of your inspection.
Step 4: Inspect Property
The property will be inspected to the QBCC Standards & Tolerances which the builders building certifier & engineer are not responsible for checking throughout construction. Safe removable tape will be used to identify defects for the assigned trade responsible to rectify.
Step 5: Verbal Briefing
Whether you’re available on site or via phone after the inspection is completed, we’ll summarise if we believe the property is at, below or above average when compared to other new home properties inspected by Firth Co Construction.
Step 6: Compile Report
Collating all of the information in the report can take just as long as the inspection process itself, but we think it’s worth it with our detailed reports including Property details, Structure details, Defects, QBCC References, Photos, Incomplete items and Summary. Provided the inspection has been completed by 12pm midday we offer same day reports.
New Home Handover Inspection
We provide quality Handover / Practical Completion reports on the works completed at new homes and units to the QBCC standards and tolerances guide. Our reports include property specific inspection & structure details, incomplete items, interior & exterior defects including photos and safe removable tape to identify defects for the assigned trade responsible to rectify.
We service 3, 6 or 12 month maintenance inspections during the 12 month QBCC defects liability period. Builders in QLD must provide a 12 month maintenance period from completion for new homes & units for structural & non-structural defects identified within this time. We can assist by completing these detailed reports on your behalf including property specific inspection & structure details, interior & exterior defects including photos and safe removable tape to identify defects for the assigned trade responsible to rectify.
Progress Stage Inspections
We offer Progress stage inspections to inspect for non-structural quality defect items per the QBCC standards & tolerances that the Building Certifiers and Engineers do not look for at four stages: Slab post pour, Frame pre-linings, Enclosed/Lockup incl Roof/External walls & cladding completed, Fixing internal wall linings /Cabinetry/Carpentry /Tiling completed. This ensures quality defects are identified earlier in construction to avoid lengthy rectification delays on completion.
